Long Balls Lead Huskies Past Seton Hall, 11-4

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team (27-16, 10-4) hit a season-high five home runs on Thursday evening to lift the Huskies to an 11-4 series opening win against Seton Hall at Elliot Ballpark.
Reggie Crawford got the Huskies on the board first with a solo shot out to right field in the second, his 10th of the year, to give the Huskies the early 1-0 advantage.
After Austin Peterson and Ryan McLinskey traded zeroes until the fifth, Seton Hall was able to break through with a pair of runs to take a 2-1 lead.
UConn immediately responded with back-to-back home runs from Kyler Fedko and Chris Winkel to make it 3-2 Huskies.
Casey Dana gave the Pirates the lead back in the sixth with a long two-run homer out to left to make it 4-3.
The Huskies punched back with a four-run sixth inning that featured Pat Winkel (solo shot) and Chris Brown (two-run) hitting home runs to push the UConn lead to 6-4.

UConn created distance in the eighth with a three-run frame that featured an RBI single for Erik Stock and Crawford's two-run single to baloon the lead to seven, 11-4.
Kenny Haus earned the win out of the pen with 2.2 innings of shutout ball, while Will Lucas closed it out with a scoreless ninth inning.
The Huskies will celebrate Senior Day at 11:40 a.m. on Friday, ahead of a noon doubleheader against the Pirates.
