WHOC Unveils 2021-22 Schedule

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's hockey team has unveiled its 2021-22 schedule that features 27 Hockey East contests and hosting the 2021 Nutmeg Classic at the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum.
The Huskies will play 19 of their 34 scheduled contests in Storrs, Conn. including the season-opening series on September 24-25 against LIU.Â
UConn will play its first road non-conference series at RIT on October 8-9 and follow it up with its first Hockey East game of the season at Maine on October 15.
October finishes with three-straight games against Merrimack College and a home contest against Vermont on October 30.
The Huskies host the annual Nutmeg Classic on November 26-27 with Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac and Yale the three other participants. November also features a home matchup against Brown on November 2.
UConn wraps up the fall semester with a home-and-home series against Holy Cross on December 3-4.Â
The 2022 portion of the slate begins with a road series in Burlington, VT against the Catamounts on January 7-8. The second semester features home and home series against Boston College (January 14-15), Providence (February 11-12) and Northeastern (February 18-19) and a home series against New Hampshire on January 21-22.
The season wraps up with the Hockey East Championship. For the first time ever, the Hockey East Women's Tournament will feature all 10 member programs. Seeds seven and eight will host seeds 10 and nine, respectively, in the Opening Round on Wednesday, February 23 while the top six seeds receive a bye into the Quarterfinals. After a reseeding, the top two seeds will host the winners of the Opening Round while the three seed will host the six seed and the four seed will host the five seed. Semifinals will take place on Friday, March 4 and the Championship is set for Saturday, March 5 in prime time for just the second time ever. Details regarding the championship site and tickets will be announced at a later date
