UConn to Visit Marquette, DePaul

STORRS, Conn. - Looking to carry its momentum into another weekend of BIG EAST play, the UConn women's volleyball team will head to the Midwest for contests vs. Marquette and DePaul.
The Huskies will first visit the Golden Eagles on Friday, Oct. 1 before a tilt with Blue Demons on Saturday, Oct. 2. Both contests are slated for 6 p.m. EST starts and can be seen live on FloSports.
UConn (10-4, 2-0 BIG EAST) is coming off 3-0 victories over both Seton Hall and St. John's at home. With the wins, the Huskies improved to 2-0 in conference play for the first time since the 2016 campaign, and 2-0 in Big East action since 2012.
In the debut of conference play last weekend, UConn put up the best hitting percentage (.299), opponent hitting percentage (.100), and blocks per set (4.0) averages amongst all 11 squads.
Sophomore Taylor Pannell garnered a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll after posting a career-high 10 block assists vs. St. John's, and averaged 2.0 blocks per set and 1.83 kills per set over the weekend. Senior Kennadie Jake-Turner remains the league-leader in hitting percentage (.354), while fellow senior Caylee Parker is averaging a team-best 3.02 kills per set.
SCOUTING MARQUETTE
One of four teams to start 2-0 in BIG EAST action, the Golden Eagles are coming off wins against Villanova and Georgetown to improve to 11-2 overall. Taylor Wolf was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after recording a .400 hitting percentage with 27 kills to just three errors.
The Huskies are 3-6 vs. the Golden Eagles and will look for their first win in the series since 2009.
SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul is additionally off to a 2-0 start after downing Villanova and Georgetown as well, with each result coming via sweep. Jill Pressley is the team's top offensive threat with 3.51 kills per set, while Aly Kindelberger paces the defense with 1.08 blocks per set.
UConn is 9-0 against the Blue Demons all-time, earning sweeps in four of those matches.
The Huskies will remain on the road and head to Villanova (Oct. 8) and Georgetown (Oct. 9) next weekend.
