UConn will return to Hockey East action on Saturday afternoon with a trip to No. 18 Boston College on the slate. This will be the second of three meeting between the Huskies and Eagles this season. Saturday's game will be available on NESNplus.
In their first meeting back on November 12, BC ended UConn's four-game winning streak with a 2-1 win at the XL Center in Hartford. UConn took a 1-0 lead on a Ryan Tverberg tally but BC tied it up thanks to Colby Ambrosio and then won it late as Jack McBain buried the game-winner with 1:22 left in the third.
UConn enters Saturday with a 5-4-0 Hockey East mark and 14 points, seventh in the conference standings. BC comes in at 5-3-2 and tied for fourth with 19 points.Â
The Huskies are coming off a 6-3 loss at No. 19 nationally ranked Harvard last Sunday. It was UConn's first game since November 27 after seeing four games on the schedule in December postponed due to covid related issues within the program.Â
UConn got a goal and an assist in Sunday's loss from grad student Kevin O'Neil and senior Jachym Kondelik and sophomore Artem Shlaine scored the Huskies other goal. The Huskies held a 35-28 shot advantage but lost the battle on special teams, going 0-for-3 on the power play including coming up empty on a 5-on-3 while Harvard potted a pair of power play goals.
Schedule Updates - The Huskies will make-up their Hockey East series with Merrimack with a home game against the Warriors on Tuesday, January 25 at the XL Center and trip up to Lawler Rink on Tuesday, February 8. It was also announced that UConn will head to AIC on Tuesday, January 11 in a rescheduled game of their December 9 postponed contest. The two teams are still working to find a new date for the postponed December 11 game at XL Center.
Sophomore Ryan Tverberg is the Huskies leading scorer this season, scoring nine goals with seven assists through 15 games. He is a +8 on the season with five multi-point games and had a five-game goal scoring streak as well. He is tied for 11th in Hockey East in scoring, averaging 1.07 points per game. His nine goals is tied for seventh.

Last Meeting vs. Boston College
November 12, 2021 @ XL Center - L, 2-1
- Boston College senior Jack McBain scored the game-winner with 1:22 left in the third period giving the No. 16 nationally ranked Eagles a 2-1 win at the XL Center in November.
- The loss snapped UConn's four-game winning streak. After a scoreless first period, UConn grabbed the lead in the second as sophomore Ryan Tverberg scored the Huskies lone goal, his eight on the season to extend his streak to four-straight games with a goal.
- BC's Colby Ambrosio tied it up for the Eagles with just 20 seconds left in the second, sending the game to the final period knotted back up. With the UConn goaltender Darion Hanson stopping two break-away chances for BC in the third the game looked like it might head to overtime. McBaine had other ideas and took a feed from Nikita Nesterenko on a two-on-two rush into the zone and snapped a shot past Hanson for the go-ahead tally.
- Hanson finished with 37 saves in the loss while BC goaltender Eric Dop made 29 saves. There was just matching minors called on both teams in the third period as the only penalties for the night leaving both teams without a power play chance.
