Huskies set for Mid Week Matchup Vs. Wildcats

STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut women's volleyball team is set for a midweek matchup against BIG EAST foe Villanova on Thursday October 13 at noon.
UConn enters the matchup against Villanova posting a 7-10 overall record and a 1-5 record in Big East action. The Huskies are coming off a 1-1 weekend in which they pushed no.21 Creighton to five sets and beat Xavier University in four sets.
The Huskies are led by senior Caylee Parker who has 203 total kills on the year and is averaging three kills per set and four points per set. In addition to Parker, the Huskies are also led by Jasmine Davis who has 184 total kills on the season, and Madi Whitmire who has 626 total assists.
Scouting Villanova
The Wildcats enter the matchup vs. the Huskies posting a 5-13 overall record and a 1-5 record in Big East Action. Villanova's lone conference win came against St. Johns University in four sets. Villanova is led by Rose Crist with 189 total kills on the season and Riley Homer with 184 total kills. In addition to Crist and Homer, the Wildcats have two setters with over 200 total assists, Belle Morgan with 292 and Andrea Campos with 270.
The last match between UConn and Villanova resulted in a three-set sweep in favor of the Huskies. In the match, Caylee Parker finished with 12 kills followed by Jasmine Davis with 11 and Kennadie Jake-Turner with eight.

Following the midweek matchup vs. Villanova, UConn will remain at home as they will welcome Georgetown University to Storrs, October 15. The game is set to begin at 3pm and can be streamed on FloSports.
