#14 UConn Set to Face #10 Providence

Storrs, Conn. - The women's ice hockey team prepares for a home and home series against Providence on November 11 and November 12 in a Hockey East matchup. The Huskies host game one at Freitas Ice Forum on Friday at 6 PM and then travel on Saturday for game two to Providence, RI.
The No. 14 ranked Huskies enter the matchup 8-4-2 overall and 4-4-2 in Hockey East play. The Huskies are coming off a sweep against Boston College. Goaltender, Tia Chan, had another stellar performance in the last series, as she finished with 42 saves. Chan has 327 total saves in the season. Also, the first year forward Brooke Campbell recorded her third goal of the season while senior captain, Coryn Tormala, logged her fifth goal and sixth assist of the season.
Scouting Providence
In the Division I women's ice hockey poll, Providence is currently ranked No. 10 in the country. The Friars enter the matchup with a 9-2-1 overall record and a 6-1-1 conference record. Providence is coming off a sweep against Boston University last weekend. The Friars are led by Reichen Kirchmair and Sara Hjalmarsson with a combined total of 13 goals, 11 assists, and 24 points. Goaltender, Sandra Abstreiter, has a total of 289 saves this season.
