Softball Kicks Off 2022 Campaign

LEESBURG, Fla. - The UConn Softball team is set to open the 2022 season at the Northern Lights Tournament in Leesburg, Florida.
The Huskies will open the weekend with SEC foe Missouri on Friday, February 11th at 12:30pm. The tigers are coming off a 42-17 season last year, making it to the NCAA Super Regional before losing to College World Series Finalist, James Madison.
Following the first game on Friday, the Huskies will play Northwestern at 3:00pm. Northwestern is coming off a 30-17 season last year and a trip to the NCAA Regionals. Â
On Saturday, the Huskies will face a pair of Big Ten teams in Michigan State and Penn State. The Spartans are coming off a 14-26 season last year with most of their lineup returning from the previous season. The Nittany Lions are coming off a 7-34 last season. UConn is set to open with Michigan State at 1:00pm and Penn State directly after at 4:00pm.
UConn will close out the weekend against Big Ten foe Wisconsin. The Badgers are coming off an 18-22 season last year.
The Huskies are coming off a 22-20 record last year and finished 3rd in the regular season standings. The Huskies made noise in the BIG EAST Tournament making it all the way to the championship game before losing to the Villanova Wildcats. UConn returns most of their lineup from last year and will look to build off of last season's promising end.
