No. 22 UConn Heads to Albany for Tuesday Matinee

STORRS, Conn. -The No. 22 UConn women's lacrosse team will venture back on the road to visit Albany on Tuesday, March 22 for a 1 p.m. start.
Following an eight-day gap between games, Tuesday's matchup with the Great Danes will mark the final non-conference road test for the Huskies.
UConn, who returned to the ILWomen/IWLCA poll last week and checked in at No. 22 this week, has won five straight contests and is off to its first 6-1 start since the 2016 campaign.
Defense has been crucial over the win streak, as the Huskies have outscored its opponents by a combined score of 49-23 in the second half of the last five games. In those 10 quarters, UConn has allowed more than three goals just once. Junior Ariana Kline is the top defender, as she leads the Huskies in caused turnovers (12) and is tied for third in ground balls (10). Senior Landyn White has started all seven games in net and leads the BIG EAST with 9.7 saves per game.
SCOUTING ALBANY
Albany snapped a three-goal losing streak with a 20-15 win at Canisius last Wednesday. Reigning America East Rookie of the Year Katie Pascale leads the Great Danes in points (30), assists (14) and draw controls (21). Sarah Falk is the top scorer (20) and is coming of a five-goal effort vs. Canisius. Katie Thompson, the 2021 America East Coach of the Year, is in her fourth season at the helm of the program and has guided Albany to two 11-win seasons during her tenure.
THE SERIES
The Huskies have won all four games in the all-time series vs. the Great Danes.
