MIAMI - The UConn baseball team (7-1) extended its win streak to six games with a 9-1 victory at FIU on Saturday night at the FIU Baseball Stadium.
The Huskies secured a series win against the Panthers and will look for their second-straight sweep on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m.
Casey Dana led the way for the Huskies with a three-hit, four RBI night that featured an RBI single in the third inning, a two-out RBI double in the fourth and a solo home run in the ninth inning.
That was all that starting pitcher Pat Gallagher would need as the Leominster, Mass. native earned his second win of the season with 7.0 solid innings of work with just one run allowed, zero walks and six strikeouts.Â
T.C. Simmons notched a three-hit night including an RBI double in the fourth. Matt Garbowski and Bryan Padilla also registered multi-hit efforts on Saturday.
The Huskies recorded a season-high 15 hits in the winning effort with all nine starters recording a hit.Â
