No. 25 HookC Gets Great Pitching to Beat Kent State, 4-3

KENT, Ohio - The No. 25 UConn baseball team (18-6) received stellar pitching in a 4-3 victory at Kent State on a cold Friday afternoon.
In a game that had snow flurries throughout, Austin Peterson moved to 5-0 on the season with eight solid innings of work on the bump for Connecticut.
The Chesterton, Ind. native struck out 10 and got out of a jam in the seventh inning with the potential tying run at second base. The UConn ace was able to get back-to-back punch outs to keep the Huskies ahead, 4-3.
Justin Willis closed the game out by striking out the side in a 1-2-3 ninth inning. It is the fifth save of the year for the UConn closer.
Bryan Padilla got the UConn offense going with an RBI single in the third inning to take a 1-0 lead.
After the Golden Flashes plated two runs in their half of the third, the Huskies responded with a bases-clearing double off the bat of Zach Bushling to give UConn a 4-2 advantage.Â
The Huskies look to win the series tomorrow at 1 p.m.
