No. 25 HookC and Kent State Face Off In Series Between Northern Powers

KENT, Ohio - The No. 25 UConn baseball team (17-6) heads to Kent State (9-10) to face off against the MAC powerhouse in a three-game series beginning on Friday, April 1 at 3 p.m.
The series matches up two of the top teams in the North with the Golden Flashes winning 432 games and the Huskies winning 427 games since 2010. The two programs rank second and third respectively among teams north of the Mason Dixon line (Oregon State, 392).
UConn is looking to rebound this weekend after dropping a midweek contest against Boston College on Tuesday, 5-3.
Austin Peterson takes the ball on Friday for the Huskies with a BIG EAST leading 60 strikeouts on the season. The right-hander ranks fourth in the country in strikeouts.Â
Pat Gallagher (4-1) and Enzo Stefanoni (3-1) will follow in the weekend rotation as the Huskies rank sixth in the country with their 2.74 ERA.
This weekend will be the final non-conference weekend for the Huskies with BIG EAST Conference play opening up next weekend in Storrs. UConn opens against rival St. John's.Â
