No. 15 HookC Scores 23 Unanswered to Win 10th Straight

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 15 UConn baseball team (29-7) scored 23 unanswered runs to overcome an 11-5 deficit against UMass and win its 10th-straight game, 28-11, on Tuesday afternoon at Elliot Ballpark.
The 28 runs is a season-high and is the second time the UConn offense has scored 25 or more runs during the winning streak.Â
UConn overcame a 5-0 deficit in the first and an 11-5 hole in the third. The Huskies scored a season-high nine runs in the third inning to take its first lead of the ballgame.
Ben Huber homered twice in the ballgame with a three-run game tying homer in the first and a two-run shot in the third to give UConn a 14-11 lead.
Eight Huskies finished with multi-RBI games with Huber leading the way with six. Eight Huskies also recorded multi-hit efforts with the Huskies totaling 23 hits on the afternoon.
Cole Chudoba was excellent out of the pen with 5.2 scoreless frames to earn his second victory of the season.
Kenny Campbell made his first appearance of 2022 and struck out a pair in a scoreless ninth.
Next up, the Huskies will face Boston College on the road at 7 p.m. on the ACC Network.
