Softball bounces back in game two against Butler

Indianapolis, IN – Pitching staff leads the way as UConn shuts out Butler 5-0 in game two.
Elise Sokolsky got the start in the circle for the Huskies. She picked up right where she left off in game one pitching four scoreless innings for the Huskies striking out five.
UConn jumped out in front early in this one. Rosie Garcia singled to center scoring Briana Marcelino making it 1-0 Huskies. UConn would add to the lead in the fourth as Erika Coreth singled to score Sami Barnett.
Marybeth Olson came in relief for Sokolsky in the fifth. She went three innings only giving up three hits with one strikeout.
The Huskies would add two more runs in the sixth giving them a 4-0 lead. Reese Guevarra singled to score both runs.
UConn added an insurance run in the seventh. Olivia Sappington singled to center scoring Lexi Hastings making it 5-0 Huskies.
UConn improves to 19-13 on the season and 9-2 in the BIG EAST. The rubber game against Butler will be tomorrow morning at 11:00am.
