No. 15 HookC Clinches Series Against Bulldogs, 14-7

INDIANAPOLIS - The No. 15 UConn baseball team (36-8, 10-1 BIG EAST) came alive at the plate with a 14-7 win against Butler to secure a road series win on Saturday afternoon at Bulldog Park.
The Huskies scored four runs in the first and five in the third to create early distance from the Bulldogs, 9-1.Â
Casey Dana hit his team-leading ninth home run of the year while registering a four-hit day at the plate.Â
Ben Huber added a pair of hits including a two-run home run, his eighth long ball of the year. The UConn first baseman scored three runs and drove in three on the day.
Kevin Ferrer returned to the starting lineup for the first time since April 5 and notched a pair of hits including a two-run double.
Starting pitcher Pat Gallagher benefited from the run support and earned his seventh win of the season with 6.1 innings.
Jimmy Wang logged 1.2 innings out of the pen while Garrett Coe got the final three outs of the ballgame.
The Huskies will go for the series sweep on Sunday, May 1 at 11:30 a.m.

- UConn is 10-1 to begin conference play for the first time since starting 10-1 during the 2011 season.Â
