STORRS, Conn. -Â For the second straight season, the No. 20 UConn women's lacrosse team earned an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament and will have a rematch with No. 20 James Madison in the first round on Friday, May 13. Opening draw is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Huskies will head to Baltimore as sixth-seeded and fifth-ranked Loyola will host the first and second rounds of the tournament at the Ridley Athletic Complex.
UConn will make its third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. The Huskies squared off against Loyola in 2013 and faced Virginia in last season's dance, and lost by six goals in each contest.Â
This will mark the fourth time this season where UConn will take on a ranked opponent, and the second time it has played against an opponent ranked within the top-10. Furthermore, the Huskies will enter the tournament as a ranked team for the first time since the 2013 season.
UConn has 276 goals, 387 points, 574 shots and 300 draw controls this season, which have already broken the single-season team records they set last season.Â
SCOUTING JAMES MADISON
JMU closed the regular season with a 10-game win streak and will make its seventh-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Isabella Peterson, the CAA Player of the Year, leads the team in goals per game (4.0) and has multi-goal efforts in 15-of-17 games this season, and is tied for team lead with 92 draw controls.

THE SERIES
JMU has won the last five matchups and leads the series, 6-2. The Huskies and Dukes have played the last five games in the series at Tierney Field, and Friday's game will make the sixth neutral field contest between the two programs. The Dukes outscored UConn 4-0 in the third quarter of their Feb. 19 matchup en route to a 13-7 victory.
