Watson Selected as USA Lacrosse Magazine First Team All-American

STORRS, Conn. - For the second straight year, senior Sydney Watson of the UConn women's lacrosse team has been named a USA Lacrosse Magazine First Team All-American.
The list is compiled by staff and contributors, with input from college coaches and other sources. USA Lacrosse Magazine identified 60 players overall as All-Americans, including first, second and third team honors as well as honorable mentions.Â
Watson is having another season to remember as she leads UConn in points (81), goals (56), assists (23) and draw controls (157). She owns every draw control record in UConn program history and became the program's all-time leading scorer in April. The two-time BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year and Tewaaraton Award nominee has 12 hat tricks this season and has maintained a 39-game point streak dating back to her junior year.
The senior played a critial role in guiding UConn to its highest ranking in program history (14) and tie its single-season win record (13). The Huskies earned an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year and will take on James Madison tomorrow at 7 p.m. in a first round matchup.
