Watson Selected Sixth in Athletes Unlimited Draft

STORRS, Conn. – Women's lacrosse standout Sydney Watson was selected in Tuesday night's Athletes Unlimited draft and will compete in the league's second season this summer.
Watson, the sixth overall pick and one of 15 student-athletes selected in the draft, will be the first UConn player to compete in Athletes Unlimited.
Athletes Unlimited lacrosse plays a short form, fast-paced format, where four teams compete throughout the summer. The top four players become captains each week and draft their teams from scratch for following week's games.
Watson, the first midfielder selected in the draft, finished her career as one of the most accomplishment student-athletes in program history. She was a unanimous two-time BIG EAST Midfield of the Year and Tewaaraton Award nominee. Watson was instrumental in guiding UConn to reach the NCAA Tournament for two straight seasons and led the Huskies to their highest ranking in the national polls this season.
