14 Huskies Named to Hockey East All-Academic Team

STORRS, Conn. - The Hockey East Association announced their annual academic awards for the 2021-22 season with 14 Huskies selected to earn All-Academic team honors.
Hockey East announced that 186 student-athletes earned the honor this season. Each student-athlete achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which he was actively competing.
Of the 14 Huskies selected, eight student-athletes earned the honor for a second time or better. Recent graduates Carter Turnbull (Nanianmo, British Columbia) and Ryan Wheeler (Lancaster, N.Y.) were one of 19 players in the league to reach "Distinguished Scholar" status in 2021-22, having qualified for the All-Academic team in each of four seasons of varsity play.
Two-time honorees included Cassidy Bowes (Sturgeon County, Alberta), Jonny Evans (North Delta, Alberta), Matthew Pasquale (North Reading, Mass.), Gavin Puskar (Farmington, Conn.), Hudson Schandor (North Vancouver, British Columbia), and Artem Shlaine (Moscow, Russia).
Earning the academic honor for the first time was Jake Flynn (Bridgewater, Mass.), Jarrod Gourley (Calgary, Alberta), Darion Hanson (East Bethel, Minn.), Aidan Metcalfe (Palos Verde, Calif.), Kevin O'Neil (Latham, N.Y.), and Harrison Rees (Oakville, Ontario).
