MSOC Set to kickoff 2022 season Thursday

Storrs, CT – The UConn men's soccer team will welcome the Charlotte 49ers to kick off the 2022 season at Morrone Stadium Thursday at 4:00pm.
UConn's only prior meeting with Charlotte was in the 2011 Elite Eight in Storrs, in front of a sellout crowd. The Huskies lost to the 49ers in a penalty shootout.
UConn is coming into the 2022 season with a new head coach in Chris Gbandi and much of their roster returning from last season. Sophomore Mateo Leveque, who led the Huskies in points last season with three goals and six assists was named to the preseason all-conference team. Leveque is the reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Year.
UConn have been selected to finish eighth in the BIG EAST as voted by the league's coaches. The Huskies return eight of their eleven point contributors from last season.
