No. 15 FH Wraps Up Weekend vs. Monmouth

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 15 UConn field hockey team (1-0) wraps up opening weekend with an afternoon tilt against Monmouth on Sunday at 12 p.m. at the George Sherman Family Sports Complex.
The Huskies are riding high after a 2-0 victory against UMass Lowell on Friday that saw the Huskies control the match with a 13-1 edge in penalty corners and only yielded three shots against goalie Cheyenne Sprecher.
In the opener, the Huskies had five players make their UConn debut with KIanna Dawson, Sol Simone, Juana Garcia, Jasmijn Damman and Frances Carstens all getting the start for UConn.
Carstens, a graduate transfer from Stanford, led the Huskies with a team-high five shots while McKenna Sergi tallied three shots including her first goal of the season.
Monmouth is 1-0 entering Sunday's match after a victory in its season opener against Fairfield.
