No. 15 FH Hits Road Face No. 8 Rutgers, No. 7 Harvard

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 15 UConn field hockey team (2-0) heads out on its first road trip of the season with a Friday, September 2 matchup at No. 8 Rutgers at 2 p.m. and then travel to Cambridge to face No. 7 Harvard on Sunday, September 4 at 1 p.m.
Friday's game will be broadcasted on Big Ten Network +Â and Sunday's tilt against the Crimson can be viewed on ESPN+.
The Huskies enter this weekend after defeating UMass Lowell and Monmouth on opening weekend in Storrs.Â
Senior McKenna Sergi led the way with a goal in both matches and earned BIG EAST weekly honor roll for her play. Claire Jandewerth picked up where she left off last season by providing a key goal late in the Monmouth match. The game-winner against the Hawks was scored off a penalty stroke and secured the weekend sweep for the Huskies.Â
Opening weekend provided a bunch of fresh faces for the Huskies with Kianna Dawson, Frances Carstens, Juana Garcia, Jasmijn Damman and Sol Simone all playing pivotal roles in their first two matches at UConn.Â
Damman scored her first career goal in the season opener against UMass Lowell to help the Huskies win 2-0.Â
Rutgers reached the 2021 NCAA Quarterfinals but are off to 1-2 start with losses to No. 18 Duke and No. 16 Saint Joseph's. The Scarlets Knights notched their first win yesterday against Lasalle, 2-0.
Harvard enters 2022 coming off a Final Four appearance last year. The Crimson have not played a game yet this season but will open against No. 24 Miami (OH) on Friday in Cambridge.
