No. 11 FH Open BIG EAST Play In Midst Of Longest Road Trip Of Season

NORFOLK, Va. - The No. 11 UConn field hockey team (4-1) heads to Virginia this weekend to play a pair of Top-25 teams to wrap up its five-game September road swing.
The Huskies will open BIG EAST play against No. 14 Old Dominion on Friday, September 16 at 1 p.m. and close out the weekend with a Sunday, September 18 date against 24th ranked William and Mary at 11 a.m.
UConn has won two-straight entering this weekend against No. 7 Harvard and No. 24 Delaware with the last match featuring a three-goal comeback in the fourth quarter.
The Huskies have featured a balanced attack offensively with nine players scoring at least a goal. McKenna Sergi leads the way with two goals this season.
The offense has created pressure all season long shown by being third in the nation with 9.20 penalty corners per game.
The UConn defense has limited shot opportunities against Cheyenne Sprecher this season, only allowing just over five shots per game this season.
The Huskies are 21-25 all-time against the Monarchs with the series dating back all the way to 1979. The last meeting in the 2021 BIG EAST semifinals with Claire Jandewerth scoring the game-winner with under two minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
UConn is 7-1-2 all-time against William & Mary with the last meeting between the two sides coming in 2018.
