Softball heads to Greensboro for UNCG Invitational

GREENSBORO, NC – The UConn softball team (4-4) heads to Greensboro, North Carolina for the UNCG Invitational this weekend. Games will be streamed on FloSports and ESPN+.
The Huskies will open the tournament on Friday with one game against the host school North Carolina Greensboro (7-4) in the night cap at 6:30pm.
On Saturday, UConn will matchup with Delaware (4-5) at 11:00am and then the Indiana Hoosiers (3-6). Time is TBA for the Indiana game.
The Huskies will then play at 4:00pm (2 seed vs. 3 seed) or 6:30pm (1 seed vs. 4 seed) depending on seeding from the first three games.
On Sunday, UConn will play at 10:00am (Loser's bracket) or 12:30pm (Winners bracket) depending on the results from Saturday's semifinal games.
The Huskies have been led by a pair of freshmen in Grace Jenkins and Savannah Ring. The duo has combined for 13 runs batted in, with 20 hits, and 12 runs scored. Jenkins was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for her performance in Gainesville last weekend while Ring made honor roll.
