UConn Set for First Home Big East Matchup vs. Providence

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set to face the first Big East matchup at home in the 2023 season against the Providence Friars on Sunday, Feb. 26 at Magic Lincer Tennis Academy in Windsor, Conn.
Entering the matchup, UConn stands at 5-2 overall in the season. The Huskies are currently on a three-game winning streak including a 5-0 record at home. Last Thursday, they won 5-2 over URI.
Last time out, the Huskies looked strong from top to bottom. In the match, Olivia Wright, Maria Constantinou, and Aleksandra Karamyshev earned wins in both doubles and singles play as Olivia Wright clinched the match at first singles taking a 6-1, 7-6 (7-1) victory.
Scouting the Friars
Heading into the matchup, Providence is 0-6 this season. The Friars compete in a Big East matchup weekend with Villanova on Saturday and UConn on Sunday. Last Sunday, Providence fell short to Siena 4-3. Julia Migliorini and Darah Ross both grabbed wins at second singles and third singles winning in straight sets.
First serve is scheduled for 12 p.m. EST in Windsor, Conn.
