STORRS, Conn. - The No.15 UConn baseball team preps for a pair of big New England midweek games against Northeastern and No. 20 Boston College. The Huskies will take on the Boston Huskies on Tuesday, April 18 at 4:05 p.m. and follow it up with a road trip up the Mass Pike to face the nationally ranked Eagles on Wednesday, April 19 at 5:30 p.m.Â
Northeastern comes to town with the most win in New England with a 28-7 mark on the year. The two teams split a pair of midweek matchups last season and UConn holds a 59-20-1 edge in the all-time series.Â
Northeastern comes into the week ranking in the top-25 in the country in scoring (8.5, 20th), batting average (.313, 22nd), shutouts (6, 3rd), ERA (3.53, 11th), stolen bases (89, 8th), walks allowed per nine innings (2.92, 7th) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.97, 12th).Â
On Wednesday, the Huskies and Eagles link up for the second time this season. The first meeting came on March 28 with the No. 14 Eagles beating the Huskies, 6-3.Â
Boston College is coming off a series loss to Duke but still ranks 20th in the country with a 24-11 mark on the season.
The Huskies are coming off a 4-1 week that featured a series win at Xavier. The Huskies won its fourth game of the season when trailing entering their final at bat in the series finale against the Musketeers. Jake Studley and Ryan Daniels each hit two-run homers in the ninth to flip a two-run deficit into a two-run lead and eventual victory.Â
 UConn checks in at 26-9 on the year and rank No.16 in the latest RPI rankings.Â
UConn currently ranks in the top 25 in the country in doubles (89, 9th), fielding percentage (.980, 14th), scoring (8.5, 20th) and stolen bases (68, 25th).Â
The Huskies lead off man and team captain David Smith 14th in the nation with 47 runs scored this season and ranks 12th in all of college baseball with 24 stolen bases.Â
Jake Studley and Luke Broadhurst continue to rake with both entering midweek action with team-high 15 game hits streaks.
Ben Huber leads the team with 10 home runs and has homered in three-straight games for the Huskies.Â
