MASON, Ohio - The No. 9 UConn baseball team (41-14) lost to Xavier (36-22), 10-2, on Thursday evening at Prasco Park.
The loss pushes the Huskies to an elimination game on Friday at 5 p.m. against the Georgetown Hoyas.Â
Paul Tammaro recorded his fourth-straight multi-hit effort and homered in as many games with a solo shot in the first.Â
Luke Broadhurst registered a three-hit night while Dominic Freeberger notched his team-leading 28th multi-hit contest of the year.
Joe Carrea pitched a career-high 2.2 innings, allowed one unearned run and struck out a pair out of the UConn bullpen.Â
Braden Quinn logged a season-high 2.1 innings of work.Â
