Softball set to host Saint Peter's on Sunday

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn softball team (32-13) closes out their regular season this Sunday, hosting the Saint Peter's Peacocks (29-19) at Burrill Family Field. The game will be streamed on UConn+.
The Huskies closed out BIG EAST play last weekend at DePaul, clinching a share of the BIG EAST regular season title for the second year in a row. UConn has had great production from the top of the lineup this season, as the first three hitters in the lineup in Lexi Hastings, Aziah James, and Grace Jenkins are all hitting over .300 this season. Jenkins leads the Huskies with 39 RBI's in her freshman season.
UConn's pitching staff has been solid this season, holding opponents to a .212 batting average, with 267 strikeouts. Meghan O'Neil has been dominant out of the bullpen this season, earning eight saves which ranks second in the country.
Saint Peter's is coming into Sunday's game winners in two of their last three games. This will be the first game played between the two programs.
