WSOC Looks To Carry Momentum Into Wednesday Night Match

STORRS, Conn. - After posting a pair of shutouts last week, the UConn women's soccer team (2-1-1) wrap up a three-match home stand with a date with Marist (0-2-2) on Wednesday, September 6 at 7 p.m. at Morrone Stadium. The game will be streamed for free at UConn+.Â
Wednesday night is High School Night at Morrone with all high school teams able to sign up for free tickets at the link HERE.
The Huskies rank tied for 14th in the country with just two goals allowed this season. UConn has three shutouts this season tied for 16th most in the country and tied for the most among teams that have played just four games.
The UConn offense also ranks 24th nationally with 18.75 shots per game.Â
After a tightly contested Thursday match against Army, the Huskies utilized its depth on Sunday with 20 players getting into the game and contributing to its 2-0 victory against New Hampshire.Â
UConn has evenly distributed its goals this season with Chioma Okafor, Abbey Jones, Cara Jordan, Jessica Mazo and Brooke Walonis all tallying a goal.Â
Marist enters Wednesday night's match coming off a 1-1 tie with Seton Hall on Sunday. Grace Hotaling scored the first goal of the season for the Red Foxes against the Pirates.
In all four matches this season, Marist has played both Maddy Catalonotti and Kelly Lambertson in goal. Senior Kaitlyn Mahoney has played all 360 minutes in goal for the Huskies this season.Â
