No. 12 Huskies Take on Merrimack and Boston University this Weekend

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team prepares for two Hockey East matchups on Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13 against Merrimack in North Andover, Mass., and Boston University at home.Â
The Huskies currently rank No. 12 in the USCHO national poll with an overall record of 12-6-2 and a conference record of 9-3-1. UConn places second in the conference. Last time out, the Huskies took the 2-1 win over Brown on Tuesday, Jan. 9. Junior forward Riley Grimley and sophomore forward Brooke Campbell both scored to lift UConn past the Bears. Junior goaltender Megan Warrener got her seventh win of the season and now has a combined 140 saves and a .76 goals-against average. Â
Scouting Merrimack and Boston UniversityÂ
Heading into the matchup, Merrimack is 6-12-2 overall and 3-8-2 in conference play. Last time out, the Warriors were swept by third-ranked Wisconsin last weekend. The redshirt fifth year forward Celine Tedenby leads the way for Merrimack with 15 points including seven goals scored and eight assists. Â
UConn faced Merrimack back on December 1 this season and secured a 2-1 win. The Huskies are 16-6-3 against the Warriors all time.Â
Boston University enters the matchup with a 9-8-2 overall record and a 7-6-1 conference record. The Terriers are fourth in the conference. Last time out, BU took the 4-3 win over Maine in Hockey East action on Monday, Jan. 8. The senior forward Lacey Martin leads the way for the Terriers with 18 points including nine goals and nine assists. Â
UConn has not faced BU yet this season. Last season the Huskies went 0-2-1 and are 15-31-9 all-time against the Terriers.Â
Puck drop is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on Friday against Merrimack and 3 p.m. ET on Saturday against BU. Both games can be streamed live on ESPN+.Â
