No. 11 Huskies Face Off Agianst Maine and New Hampshire

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team is set for two Hockey East matchups this weekend on Friday, Jan. 19 against Maine at Toscano Family Ice Forum and Sunday, Jan. 21 against New Hampshire away in Durham, N.H.Â
The Huskies enter both matchups as No. 11 in the USCHO national poll with a 14-6-2 overall record and an 11-3-1 in Hockey East play. The Huskies remain in second place in the conference. Last time out, UConn took both victories against Hockey East opponents in Merrimack going 2-1 and against Boston University going 5-2. Leading the way for the Huskies this season are forwards Jada Habisch and Brooke Campbell, as they have 32 points, including 19 goals scored and 13 assists. Also, junior goaltender Megan Warrener continues to shine in goal with a 9-0-1 record on the season along with a .91 goals-against average and 191 saves. Â
Scouting Maine and New HampshireÂ
Heading into the matchup, the Maine Black Bears are 11-11-1 overall and 7-8-1 in conference action this season. Last time out, Maine faced Northeastern dropping the first and then skating to a tie in the second last weekend. Leading the way is forward Ida Kuoppala with 28 points including 16 goals and 12 assists. Â
UConn has faced Maine twice this season taking both wins away in Orono. UConn has an all-time record against the Black Bears of 41-20-9.Â
Heading into the matchup with New Hampshire, the Wildcats are 10-10-2 overall and 7-6-2 in conference play this season. Last time out, New Hampshire took a 4-1 win on Friday, Jan. 12 against BU and then tied with Boston College 2-2 on Saturday, Jan. 13. Leading the way is forward Kira Juodikis with a total of 17 points along with nine goals and eight assists. Â
UConn has faced New Hampshire twice this season at home. The Huskies fell 2-0 in the first game and then won the second game 4-0. UConn all-time against New Hampshire is 24-46-5.Â
