Track & Field Set for Crimson Elite Friday and Scarlett and White Saturday

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut men's and women's track and field teams get underway this weekend with two squads heading to the Harvard Crimson Elite on Friday, Feb. 2 and the BU Scarlett & White Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 3. Â
The Huskies finished out another strong competition at the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge Invite last Saturday in a two-day meet. The men won in the team score with 125 points while the women placed second with a score of 87 points, respectively. UConn had 24 top-five results along with seven personal bests and four winners. Â
Individually for the men, Terrel Williams in the 60-meter hurdles tied his own first all-time mark at UConn with a time of 7.71 seconds. Then, for the women, Jailya Ash broke the indoor school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a blazing time of 8.19 seconds.Â
The Huskies now take on the split squad weekend with the Crimson Elite starting at 10:30 a.m. ET on Friday with the multi-events and the Scarlett and White at 10 a.m. ET beginning with the 60mH trials.Â
