UConn Heads to Northeastern for Final Regular Season Meet

BOSTON, MA – The UConn Huskies will send a contingent to Northeastern on Saturday for the Jay Carisella and Joe Donahue Coaches Invitational. This will be the final meet before championship season kicks-off in two weeks with UConn hosting the 2026 BIG EAST Championships.
Scheduled to compete for the UConn women on the track will be Caitlin Thomas and Allison McCarthy in the 3,000m steeplechase, Emerson Flaker and Caroline Rice in the 400m and Loghan Huges in the 3000m. In the hurdle events, Maia Rich will run both the 100m and 400m. Maegan Feeney and Emily Miller will join her in the 100m and Kiley Shatzel will join in the 400m.
In the field events, Gabriella DeFelice is entered in the discus, hammer and shot put. Ella Kapr will also throw the hammer and shot put. Maresa Hense is scheduled to throw the shot put and the javelin. Also in the javelin is Mackenzie Braunstein, Audrey Kozak and Emily Miller.
Braunstein and Jalynn Smith are entered in the long jump while Ruby Tillson is in the high jump.
For the UConn men on the track, the trio of Christian Menounos, Daniel Hilmer, and Liam Naughton will open the day running the 3000m steeplechase. Noah Colangelo is slated for the 400m, Mason Brosious, Jack Forer, and Kelton Poirier are in the 800m and Teyedza Jaravaza and Peyton Butler in the 200m.
Mohamed Wahdan and Wyatt Gravier are slated for the 100m and 400m hurdle events. Jordon Quinn is also entered in the 100m hurdles and Orenthal Singletary is in the 400m hurdles.
In the field events, Lucas DeCrescenzo Alex Krause will throw the discus and the hammer. Also in the discus is Marshall Potter, Capp DeSheplo and Nicholas Connolly. DeSheplo and Connolly will also compete in the shot put.
In the pole vault, Kyle Kurtz is set to compete.
Following Saturday's meet in Boston, the Huskies will make their final preparations for the BIG EAST Championships that will take place at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex on May 14-16.
