No. 11 Huskies Set for Two-Game Road Trip to Merrimack and Vermont

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team is set for a two-game road trip with Merrimack in North Andover, Mass., on Friday, Feb. 16 and Vermont in Burlington, Vt., on Saturday, Feb. 17.
Heading into the matchup, the Huskies are currently ranked No. 11 in the USCHO national poll with an overall record of 19-6-5 and a Hockey East record of 16-3-4. UConn currently sits atop the leaderboard in the conference standings with 52 points. Last time out, the Huskies eased their way to a 5-1 win over Holy Cross on Saturday, Feb. 10 in Worcester, Mass. Leading the way thus far this season has been the play from senior forward Jada Habisch with a team-high 24 points including 14 goals and 10 assists. Also, junior goaltender Megan Warrener added another win to her unbeaten record last weekend that currently stands at 12-0-1. Warrener now has 257 saves with a .957 save percentage and a nation-leading goals against average of .85.
Scouting Merrimack and Vermont
Entering the matchups, the Merrimack Warriors are 10-17-3 overall and 7-13-3 in Hockey East action. The Warriors are eighth in the conference standings. Last time out, Merrimack split the home-and-home series with New Hampshire, dropping 3-2 on Friday at home and then taking the 2-1 win on Saturday away. Leading the way is forward Celine Tedenby with 21 points including seven goals and 14 assists.
UConn has faced Merrimack twice already this season, winning both games at home and away by a score of 2-1. The Huskies are 17-6-3 in all-time matchups.
The Vermont Catamounts enter the matchup with an overall record of 11-15-4 and a Hockey East record of 9-11-3. The Catamounts are sixth in the standings. Last time out, Vermont skated to two ties against Boston College on Friday and Providence on Saturday both by a score of 2-2. Leading the way is forward Natálie Mlynková with 30 points including 17 goals scored and 13 assists.
UConn has faced Vermont twice already this season, winning the first game 3-0 and then tying the second game 0-0. The Huskies are 33-15-8 all-time against the Catamounts.
