INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The UConn softball team picked up their 12^th win in a row, defeating the Butler Bulldogs, 9-0 in five innings.

Hallie Siems made her 13^th start of the season in the circle, earning her 8^th win of the year, setting a new career high for wins in a season. She tossed 4.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts, stranding the bases loaded in two consecutive innings to keep the Bulldogs scoreless.

UConn jumped on Butler early, scoring six runs in the first two innings. Lexi Hastings led off the game with a solo home run to center field, her fourth of the year, giving the Huskies an early lead.

UConn broke the game open in the second inning scoring five runs on three hits, making it 6-0. Hastings came through again for the Huskies, doubling off the wall in center field, scoring Giuliana Abruscato from second base. Rosie Garcia delivered the big hit with a grand slam to left field, her sixth homer of the year and first grand slam of her career, putting UConn in the driver's seat.

Garcia hit her second home run of the game in the fourth inning, the second multi-home run game of her career, extending the lead to 7-0.

The Huskies added two more runs in the fifth inning, putting the game into run rule territory. Pinch hitter Taylor Zatyk delivered a single to center field, scoring Haley Coupal from third base. Hastings knocked in her third run of the game with a sacrifice fly, scoring Caylee De Meo from third base.

Meghan O'Neil came on in relief for Siems in the fifth inning making her 20^th appearance of the year to close out the win for the Huskies.
