HookC Plays Final Midweek at Cincinnati on Tuesday

CINCINNATI - The UConn baseball team (29-21) plays its final midweek game of the season at Cincinnati (30-21) on Tuesday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at the UC Baseball Stadium. The game can be seen on ESPN+ or listen to it on MIXLR.Â
UConn is coming off a series win against Creighton that keeps the Huskies one-game up on St. John's for first place in the BIG EAST standings with three games remaining.
Cincinnati is one of the hottest teams in the country after coming off a three-game sweep at BYU and have won five of its last six BIG 12 series to move into fifth place in the conference.
The Bearcats ranks No. 15 in the country with 293 walks and have a .405 team on-base percentage.Â
The Big 12 matchup for the Huskies is their second of the season with UConn winning a April 16th midweek game against Kansas State, 4-0, at Elliot Ballpark.Â
Tuesday also is the first game between two programs that once squared off as counterparts in the BIG EAST and American Athletic Conference.Â
UConn is 25-16 against the Bearcats but lost the last meeting in the American Athletic Conference Championship game in 2019 in Clearwater, Fla.Â
With Selection Monday a couple weeks away, Tuesday game provides a qualty win opportunity for both teams. Cincinnati enters Tuesday's game at No. 53 in the RPI while UConn currently sits at No. 42.
