WLAX Announces 2025-26 Captains

STORRS, Conn.— The UConn women's lacrosse team has announced its captains for the 2025-26 year. The captains are redshirt junior midfielder Alana Goldhaber, senior defender Olivia Marlow, junior defender Abby Beran, junior midfielder Kelsey Neary, and redshirt senior attacker Rayea Davis.
#24 Alana Goldhaber
The Connecticut native missed the 2025 season due to injury. Goldhaber was named to the 2025 IWLCA Division I Academic Honor Roll. In 2024, Goldhaber notched five ground balls and caused two turnovers for the Huskies. In UConn's 17-1 victory over Columbia on March 20th, Goldhaber had two ground balls and caused two Columbia turnovers.
#39 Olivia Marlow
Marlow started all 17 games for the Huskies in her 2025 junior campaign. The senior defender recorded 16 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers to anchor the UConn defense. Marlow secured a career-high four ground balls against Harvard on February 26th. In 2024, Marlow appeared in 10 games, with seven ground balls and two caused turnovers. Marlow appeared in two games in 2023, recording her first career ground ball on April 1st against Columbia.
#3 Abby Beran
Beran excelled for the Huskies last season, earning 2025 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year honors and IWLCA All-Region Honors. Beran was a unanimous all-BIG EAST First Team selection and BIG EAST All-Tournament Team selection. Beran led the Huskies with 53 ground balls and 33 caused turnovers. Beran was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week twice in 2025. The junior defender recorded a career-high six ground balls at Columbia on March 19th and a career-high eight draw controls against Fairfield. In 2024, Beran was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team and BIG EAST All-Tournament Team. In her freshman season, Beran played in 17 games, recording 24 ground balls, 23 caused turnovers, and 43 draw controls.
#18 Kelsey Neary
Neary appeared in 16 games in 2025, making four starts. Neary scored eight goals and added four assists on the season, scoring her first career goal at Harvard on February 26th. Neary was named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week on April 7th after scoring the game-winning overtime goal in UConn's first win over Denver. The junior midfielder added nine ground balls and caused five turnovers on the season. In 2024, Neary appeared in four games and caused two turnovers.
#6 Rayea Davis
Davis was an All-BIG EAST First Team selection and IWLCA All-Region selection in 2025, leading the Huskies with 48 goals and 71 points. Davis scored a career-high six goals against Fairfield on February 12th. In a UConn win over Hofstra on March 29th, Davis set a new career high with nine points. Davis scored her 100th career goal against Yale on March 12th. In 2024, Davis was a unanimous All-BIG EAST selection, scoring 44 goals and dishing out 17 assists on the season. In her 2023 sophomore campaign, Davis recorded 27 goals and 11 assists.
