Huskies Face St. John's and Seton Hall

 STORRS, Conn.- UConn women's volleyball hits the road this weekend, facing St. John's on Friday at 7:00 pm and Seton Hall on Saturday at 5:00 pm. The Huskies split last weekend's matches, falling to #13 Creighton in straight sets before bouncing back with a four-set victory over Providence.
Scouting the Huskies (16-6, 5-5 BIG EAST)
UConn enters the weekend with a 5-5 record in conference play. The Huskies are tied for fifth in the conference in a crowded BIG EAST, with seven of eleven teams posting a .500 record or better in conference play.
In Sunday's win over Providence, the Huskies set a new program record with 20 service aces as a team, continuing their dominance on the service line. Emma Werkmeister poured in 10 aces to break the individual single-game program record. Werkmeister leads the nation with 56 aces on the season and ranks second in aces per set (.69). The Huskies rank second in the country as a team with 2.32 aces per set. Doga Kutlu ranks third in the BIG EAST with 9.64 assists per set, dishing out 38 helpers and adding 15 digs against Providence.
Opposition Research
UConn travels to Queens on Friday night to face St. John's (6-17, 2-8 BIG EAST) for the second time this season. The Huskies defeated the Red Storm in four sets on October 4th in Storrs. Erin Jones leads St. John's in kills (3.15 per set) and aces (.38 per set). Jones made the BIG EAST Honor Roll after two consecutive triple-doubles last weekend. Jones had 10 kills, 21 assists and 10 digs against Xavier. The Red Storm senior had 18 kills. 19 assists, and 13 digs against Butler.
The Huskies will face Seton Hall (6-15, 0-10 BIG EAST) on Saturday evening. The Pirates are pursuing their first BIG EAST win this season, dropping matches to Butler and Xavier last weekend. Sadie Reich leads the Pirates with 3.48 kills per set. Gwen Adler conducts the Seton Hall attack with 5.87 assists per set.
