Huskies Set for Weekend Battle vs. No.18 Rutgers and No. 8 Harvard

STORRS, Conn. - Â The UConn women's field hockey team is back in action as they welcome Rutgers University and Harvard University to Storrs for a two game homestand. The Huskies will kick off the homestand Friday Sept. 12 vs. Rutgers at 3pm, followed by a matchup vs. Harvard Sunday at 1pm.
The Huskies are coming off a 1-0 weekend which featured a win over Brown. In the home opener, the Huskies fell behind early but fought there way back with goals from Julia Bressler, Emma Larit and Lene Bunjes to come away with the 3-2 victory. The Huskies currently sit at 3-1 overall with their lone loss coming against no. 9 Saint Joseph's in a shootout.
Rutgers enters the matchup as the no.18 team in the country, posting an 2-2 overall record with wins against Wagner and Vermont and losses against no.11 Syracuse and no.3 Virginia. Rutgers has only allowed four total goals on the season while scoring 7 in four total games.
Following the matchup with Rutgers, the Huskies will welcome Harvard university to Storrs. Last season, Harvard took down the Huskies by a final of 3-2. The Crimson enter the matchup ranked no.8 in the country and are currently 2-0 on the season. The Crimson will face off against no. 12 Ohio State prior to making the trip to Storrs.
