STORRS, Conn.-Â UConn women's cross country is set to toe the line for the first time in 2025, competing at the University of Hartford Cross Country Invitational 2025 on Saturday morning. The women's short course 3K race will start at 11:15 a.m., the second of four races of the day.
The Huskies enter the fall with a mix of talented newcomers and seasoned veterans on the cross country team and will look to maintain the positive momentum from last season. UConn finished 3rd at the 2024 BIG EAST Championships behind Georgetown and Providence.
On Saturday, six Huskies will kick off the season in Hartford. Loghan Hughes (Enosburg, Vt.), Ally McCarthy (Sandy Hook, Conn.), Megan Minicucci (Bolton, Conn.) , Calista Mayer (Tolland, Conn.) Claire Paci (Greencastle, PA) and Samantha Moore (Portland, ME) will represent UConn.
"Excited to start the 2025 cross country season. We are thrilled that University of Hartford is hosting a local competition for UConn this weekend," said Head Coach Beth Alford-Sullivan. The team has been working hard, and we are ready to compete!"
