Huskies Finish Play at Watersound

PANAMA CITY, FL - The UConn men's golf team wrapped up play at the Watersound Invitational on Wednesday afternoon, finishing 11th in the 12 team field.
The Huskies finished with a score of 850, shooting a 287 on Monday and rebounding with a 281 on Tuesday and a 282 during Wednesday's final round at the a par 71, 7,252-yard, The Third Course at Watersound Club.
UConn's top-finisher was junior Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT) who jumped up the leaderboard 20 spots during Wednesday's final round to finish in a tie for 21st overall. Sawka shot two-over 74 on Monday but came back to shoot even par (72) on Tuesday and a three-under 69 on Wednesday to finish at 209. Sawka posted his 11th and 12th rounds at or under par this season.
Senior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT) finished tied for 36th overall and fired three-under 69's over both the first and second round. He shot 73 on Wednesday to finish at 211. He also posted his 11th and 12th rounds this season at or under par.
Sophomore Caden Blanchette (Manchester, PA) finished tied for 56th at 216 (71-69-76) with sophomore Kai-Jun Huang (Taipei, Taiwan) tied for 68th at 220 (75-73-72) and sophomore Matt Costello (Taunton, MA) 75th with a 224 (75-79-70) to round out the UConn lineup. Freshman Brennan Korn (Scottsdale, AZ) finished tied for 56th playing as an individual, shooting a 217 (72-70-75), a season low tourney score.
Next up for the Huskies will be an appearance in the Surf Club Invitational in North Myrtle Beach, SC on March 9-10.
