Huskies Host No. 18 Stony Brook Tuesday Afternoon

STORRS, Conn.- UConn women's lacrosse (1-2) opens its home slate on Tuesday afternoon, welcoming the Stony Brook Seawolves (1-0) to Storrs. Due to weather, the game will be played inside at the Mark R. Shenkman Training Facility. Admission is limited to pass list guests only.
Previously on UConn Lacrosse
The Huskies dropped their last matchup on February 14th, falling to James Madison 13-11 at the USA Lacrosse Facility in Sparks, Maryland. Megan O'Brien continued her red-hot start to the season, leading the UConn attack with three goals and two assists. O'Brien leads the team with 15 points, with three straight five-point games to kick off her sophomore season.
Hadley Bethke added three more goals against JMU, adding to her team-leading total of 10 on the season. Rayea Davis has fueled UConn's attack as well, with six goals and three assists, highlighted by a four-goal performance against Fairfield on February 11th.
Abby Beran continues to dominate on the defensive end for the Huskies. Through three games, Beran has 18 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, and 7 draw controls on the season, earning BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors in two consecutive weeks.
Opposition Research:
Stony Brook comes to Storrs after a dominant performance in its season opener, downing UAlbany 15-6 on February 15th. Reese Hjertaas charged the offensive surge with a game-high five goals. Isabella Caporuscio tallied two points in the win. Caporuscio was named CAA Preseason Player of the Year after a standout 2025 season, stuffing the stat sheet with 68 points, 82 draw controls, 52 ground balls, and 36 caused turnovers. The junior midfielder earned All-American nods from Nike Lacrosse Media and USA Lacrosse.
The Seawolves were predicted to win their fourth consecutive CAA title in the CAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, with Allie Masera joining Caporuscio on the All-CAA Preseason Team, and Natalia Altebrando and Julia Fusco receiving honorable mentions. Stony Brook went 16-5 last year, winning the CAA Championship. The Seawolves won their NCAA first-round matchup against Loyola (MD) before falling to Boston College in the second round.
