STORRS, Conn. – The No. 2 seeded UConn women's hockey (25-8-2) is set to host the No. 4 seed Holy Cross Crusaders for the Hockey East Semifinal on Tuesday, March 3 at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. Puck drop is set for 6:00pm. The game will be streamed on ESPN+. TICKETS
UConn is coming off a dominant performance in the Hockey East Quarterfinal, as the Huskies powered past Maine, 6-1 on Saturday. Six different Huskies found the back of the net in the win, marking UConn's 13th game this season scoring 4+ goals. The Huskies are 12-0 this season when scoring four or more goals in a game. Sophomore forward Claire Murdoch led the way for UConn on Saturday, netting her first career four-point game, tallying a goal and three assists, earning her back-to-back Hockey East Player of the Week honors.
A Look at Holy Cross
The Holy Cross Crusaders (19-12-3) advanced in the tournament with a 5-4 victory over New Hampshire in their quarterfinal matchup. The Crusaders clinched the No. 4 seed in the tournament with a 10-11-3 conference record this season. Holy Cross is coached by Katie Lachapelle in her seventh season. The Crusaders have been led by senior goaltender Abby Hornung who was a Third Team Hockey East All-Star.
Series History
UConn won two tightly contested one-goal games in the regular season home and home series back in November. The Huskies have won 11 straight games against Holy Cross dating back to the 2022-23 season. UConn is 22-3 all-time against the Crusaders.
