Huskies Sixth at Rutherford Intercollegiate

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – The UConn men's golf team finished in sixth place at the 49th annual Rutherford Intercollegiate this weekend at Penn State.
The Huskies were sixth among 13 team in the three-round event held at the par 71, 7,130 yard Penn State Blue Course.
UConn had a blistering first round on Saturday, shooting 282 (-2) to sit in second place. The Huskies finished Saturday with a 288 in round two and were at 293 on Sunday to come in at 863 (+11). The host Nittany Lions took home the team title and were the only team finishing under par (-9) for the tournament.
Senior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT) led the Huskies with his fifth top-10 finish of the season, coming in ninth on the leaderboard, carding an even par 213 three-round score. Goode has his best round on Saturday, shooting a 68 on his first 18. He finished with a 74 in round two and a 71 on Sunday.
Sophomore Kai-Jun Huang (Taipei, Taiwan) followed up his strong outing last time out with another top-20 finish, coming in tied for 18th overall. Huang finished at 215, shooting a 72 in round one and a one-under 70 in round two. He finished up with a 73 on Sunday.
Junior Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT) was tied for 41st at 221, posting matching rounds of 70 on Saturday. Rounding out the UConn lineup was sophomore Matt Costello (Taunton, MA) at 223 (75-76-72) and freshman Brennan Korn (Scottsdale, AZ) at 223 (72-74-77), both tied for 51st. Freshman Brayden Jenard (Jupiter, FL) tied for 64th at 227 (76-79-72) playing as an individual.
The Huskies will have a week off before heading to the 2026 BIG EAST Championship on May 2-4 at the Riverton Pointe Golf & Country Club in Bluffton, SC.
