STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's soccer team returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 14 at Cincinnati at 1 p.m. after a two-week hiatus from play.
Last week the team had their bye week in conference and were able to recover and train for the stretch run of the season. The Huskies were scheduled to play on Thursday, Oct. 11 at ECU but expected weather from Hurricane Michael forced the teams to reschedule for Sunday, Oct. 28.
With the schedule change for the ECU game, Temple has agreed to push the Friday, Oct. 26 match to Thursday, Oct. 25 to assist in the Huskies travel to Greenville, N.C. The game time is still to be determined.
With five games remaining the Huskies sit at 0-4 in conference and 2-11 overall this season as the Huskies have battled a slew of injuries to key players. Vivien Beil, Kess Elmore, Yamilee Eveillard, Erin Spillane, Sophia Danyko-Kulchycky, Alana Moore, Halle Palmedo and Pato Jerzak have all missed time this season.
After Cincinnati, the Huskies will close out the home schedule by playing the final two games at Morrone Stadium against Memphis (Oct. 18) and Tulsa (Oct 21). Morrone Stadium was opened in 1969 and will be replaced by a brand new stadium at the end of the season.
UConn is a gaudy 330-69-28 (.882) all-time at Morrone Stadium since the start of the women's soccer team in 1979.
