UConn Gears Up For another Hockey East Weekend with Tilts at BU, vs. Merrimack

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team (4-1-0, 2-1-0 WHEA) continues Hockey East play with a pair of weekend matchups against Boston University and Merrimack. The Huskies head up the road to Boston, Mass. for a Friday night 7 p.m. tilt at BU. UConn will return home on the following day to host the Merrimack in a 3 p.m. matinee.

Heading into the Matchup…
- UConn trails the all-time series with BU (10-24-6), but leads the series with Merrimack (6-2-1).

- Freshman Samantha Carpentier-Yelle recorded her first career start on Oct. 13 against Holy Cross, notching 19 saves and a .905 save percentage.

UConn suffered its first defeat of the season at UNH, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Wildcats. UConn bounced back in a big way that Saturday, as they beat the Holy Cross Crusaders in dominating fashion, winning the contest 7-2. Five different Huskies found the back of the net.
Leading the Pack…
Chris Mackenzie enters his sixth season as the coach of the Huskies. Mackenzie has been an instrumental part in turning the program around and in 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
