Heading into the Matchup
- Having lost eight seniors to graduation, the Huskies return 15 members and add six newcomers to a team that finished the 2017-18 campaign (16-14-9) winning nine of its final 13 games, including a runner-up finish in the Hockey East championship game.
- Sophomore Natalie Snodgrass returns after a breakout freshman campaign. Snodgrass led the Huskies in goals (21), plus-minus (+14) and total points (38), the final mark tying her fourth all-time for most points in a season.
- UConn and St. Cloud St. are dead even in the all-time series, with each squad winning two games. The squads split the season series last year.
- For the second straight year, the Huskies were picked to finish sixth in the WHEA Preseason Poll.
Last Time Out
The Huskies dropped a 4-2 exhibition game vs the Shenzen Vanke Rays of the CWHL. UConn threw the initial blow to open up the game, but 4 unanswered goals by the Vanke Rays doomed the Huskies.

Chris Mackenzie enters his sixth season as the coach of the Huskies. Mackenzie has been an instrumental part in turning the program around and in 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
