Huskies Host UNH in Home Opener, Travel to Holy Cross

STORRS, Conn. – After a 2-0 weekend that saw the team outscore its opponents 10-1, the UConn women's hockey team turns its sights to Hockey East action as they prepare to host UNH in the Friday home opener, then traveling to Holy Cross for a Saturday night showdown. Friday's game is scheduled for a 6 pm puck drop, Saturday's tilt is set for a 7 pm start.

What to Know:
- The Huskies went 2-0 in their opening weekend, sweeping the LIU Sharks with a 4-1 win Friday and a dominating 6-1 victory Saturday night. Eight different Huskies found the back of the net – Viki Harkness and Morgan Wabick struck twice for UConn while Natalie Snodgrass, Catherine Crawley, Leona Sim, Danielle Fox, Savannah Bouzide and Briana Colangelo each tallied one goal apiece.
- The Huskies are 12-21-3 all-time vs. UNH but have won the last two matchups. UConn took last year's season series against the Wildcats, 2-1. UConn is 3-0 all-time against the Crusaders and swept last year's series, 3-0.
- UNH enters Friday with a record of 1-1-. The Wildcats beat Franklin Pierce in its opener, 6-0, before splitting the weekend series with St. Lawrence.
- Holy Cross comes into the weekend holding a 0-2-2 mark. The Crusaders suffered setbacks against Boston College and Colgate while tying both games in the series against Penn State.
Leading the Pack:
Chris MacKenzie enters his eighth season leading the UConn women's hockey team. MacKenzie has won over 100 games during his time at UConn and has been an instrumental part in turning the program around. In 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
