Huskies Visit Temple, Host Tulane

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn volleyball team (7-7, 1-1) continues conference play as they head to Philadelphia to take on Temple on Friday, October 4th at 12:00pm. The Huskies return home on Sunday, October 6th when they host Tulane (12-3, 0-2) at 12:00 pm. Sunday's game will be the home conference opener for UConn.
This Week's Matchups
Temple (9-4, 0-2) enters Friday's game after dropping two conference games last weekend against USF (3-0) and UCF (3-0). Gem Grimshaw leads the Owls with 132 kills, averaging 3.30 kills per set on the season. Tyler Lindgren has a team-high 382 assists and is hitting at a team-high .321 clip this season. Averi Salvador has tallied 209 digs with 4.98 digs per set on the season thus far.

Tulane (12-3, 2-0) comes to Storrs following two conference victories over Memphis (3-2) and SMU (3-2). The Green Wave are led by Lexie Douglas, recording 159 kills and averaging 2.69 kills per set. Amanda Giardina leads the team with 291 assists, averaging 5.11 assists per set. Kaylie McHugh anchors the defense averaging 4.60 digs per set with 267 recorded digs on the season.
Last Time Out
The Huskies are coming off of a dominant victory over USF (3-0) with five players recording five or more kills. Sophomore Anna Petrova paced the offense with 11 digs, eight digs, and hitting at a .333 clip. R-Junior Genna Florig hit at a team-high .562 and added nine kills. R-Sophomore Courtney Morris posted a team-high 34 assists and logged 13 digs and four kills. The Huskies well-balanced offense led the team to its first conference win of the season.

The Huskies return home for a pair of conference games next weekend. UConn welcomes Cincinnati to Gampel on Friday, October 11th at 7:00 pm before Sunday's matchup with ECU that is set begin at 12:00 pm.
