Huskies Fall to Tulane

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn volleyball team fell to Tulane 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Gampel Pavilion. The Huskies fall to 8-8 on the season and 2-2 in conference play, while Tulane improves to 13-4 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.
How it Happened
UConn fell behind early in the first set, but battled back to close the gap. The comeback fell short, however, and Tulane took set one by a score of 25-18. The second set was a tight contest, with the teams alternating points each rally. The score was tied 19-19 late in the set and the Huskies and Green Wave continued to exchange points. Tulane edged out UConn in the end and took the set 26-24. The third and final set saw the Green Wave get out to 9-4 lead. The Huskies could not find a rhythm and Tulane won the set 25-15 and the game 3-0.
R-Junior Genna Florig hit at a team-high .357 clip, recording six kills. Sophomore Caylee Parker led the Huskies with nine kills and added nine digs. R-Sophomore Courtney Morris tallied a team-high 27 assists and a team-high 12 digs. Freshman Allie Garland hit at a .294 clip, tallying six kills, an assist and two blocks. Fellow freshman Jasmine Davis added five kills and six digs.

The Huskies return to Gampel Pavilion with a pair of conference games next weekend. UConn will host Cincinnati on Friday, October 11th at 7:00 pm. On Sunday, October 13th, East Carolina visits Storrs to take on the Huskies at 12:00 pm.
