STORRS, Conn. – The UConn baseball team received a dominant pitching performance that led the Huskies to a 3-1 victory against Boston College at J.O. Christian Field on Wednesday afternoon.

Colby Dunlop earned his third win of the season with 5.0 innings of work, scattering six hits, giving up one unearned run and did not walk a batter.

Caleb Wurster dominated on the hill by retiring all six batters that he faced while CJ Dandeneau and Jake Wallace each logged scoreless innings of work. Wallace pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to claim his seventh save of the season on just 12 pitches.

The Huskies took an early 2-0 lead in the first behind a quick start from the top of the Huskies order. Mike Woodworth (2-3, R) tripled to begin the bottom of the first and shortly scored on an RBI double from Anthony Prato (2-4, RBI).

John Toppa nearly made it 3-0 Huskies when he drove a pitch deep into left centerfield but Boston College centerfielder Sal Frelick climbed the fence, extended and robbed Toppa of a two-run homer. Christian Fedko followed with a sacrifice fly.

The Huskies have won three-straight to move to 15-8 on the season and head into an American Athletic Conference series at UCF, beginning on Friday, March 29 at 6 p.m.

The Huskies have won four-straight against Boston College and move to 62-41 all-time against the Eagles.
Mike Woodworth collected his team-leading 12^th multi-hit game of the season.
UConn is 7-3 this season when they score in the first inning this season.
